12/6 1943 Reg Presley, singer and frontman of The Troggs, was born. In 1966, they became number one on the Billboard chart in the US, and second on the British chart, with the song "Wild Thing". He also wrote "Love Is All Around", which later became a long-running UK number one, with the group Wet Wet Wet.
