4/10 1970 Janis Joplin was found dead, aged only 27, at The Landmark Hotel in Hollywood, after an accidental heroin overdose. The following year, the single "Me And Bobby McGee" was released posthumously, just like the album "Pearl". Both took first place on the US singles and album charts respectively.
