30/12 1978 Gjorde XTC sin livedebut i USA då de uppträdde i Philadelphia.
8/9 1978 Keith Moon, The Who's drummer, died of an overdose of heminevrin, prescribed to combat alcoholism. An autopsy confirmed that there were 32 tablets in the body, 26 of which were undissolved. Moon had attended a party the night before, hosted by Paul McCartney for the release of the film "The Buddy Holly Story".
